Season One Finale: Out With a Bang!

Season one of Deep Track Designs is going out with a BANG... literally!

On a sweltering hot day in Vermont, I crack open a Harpoon Summer Ale to celebrate the season's end with my co-host and proceed to tell everyone one last story. You really need to listen in order to appreciate the full magnitude of my sweaty excitement

as I unleash my amazing new discovery…a twelve-year-old, world famous drummer from Japan!

Experience the reaction from pro drummer, Drumming with Jarvis, reacts right here…it’s priceless.

Keep in mind, Yoyoka is only eight in this video.

I instantly developed a crush on BOTH of them!

I feel so fortunate to have stumbled upon Yoyoka late one night while pulling my notes together for the final track of season one. My initial thoughts included promoting my social media

plus…reminiscing about the highlights from the last eight episodes;

theme songs, design tips, and particularly funny segments... and that I did, but things got a lot more intense very quickly.

When I first heard Yoyoka Soma’s birthday YouTube video of her drumming away to "We're an American Band" with her family, I explain how I kept digging and digging and found more and more of this genius' head-banging videos: "Stone Cold Crazy”, "Good Times Bad Times", “Burn”, "Sunshine of Your Love”, and "Black Dog," to name a few.

Listen to this drumming prodigy on the Ellen Degeneres show. She tells Ellen who her favorite bands are; Led Zeppelin and Stray Cats, but she obviously rocks out to multiple rock bands including Queen!

My most profound moment was when I read about Yoyoka exuberantly expressing how Led Zeppelin “changed her life”!

Imagine this coming from someone her age!???

Blown away by this statement, I immediately set out to design a room just for Yoyoka. One of my favorite things to do as an interior designer is designing rooms to inspire young people to pursue whatever feeds their passion. Of course, the focal point for this room needed to be a drum set. Until Yoyoka contacts me, her new room design will live in my Genre blog!

It’s hard fact- Yoyoka’s grown accustomed to seeing her name on the marquee, so what do you think she’ll think when she gets her first glimpse of this?

Teen Bedroom

In my wildest dreams, I’m imagining Yoyoka getting a bang out of her new bedroom I’ve designed for her. Wall murals, the bigger the better, are a cool way to inspire young people. I’m thinking she’ll also be happy to chill in this cozy, fur lounge chair . Not only that…she’ll have a soft & furry sheepskin rug to relax her hard-working, bass drum-thumping feet.

But, most of all, I’m wishing…

if I throw in a few color changing lightbulbs in her new pendant stage lights and add a sleek, futuristic bed super charged by even more blue LED lights, she’ll be inspired to put together her next YouTube video! And...if it’s more lights she wants, check out this rattan, lighted nightstand. Get it in red, purple or turquoise! If you’re loving the nightstand, you’re probably going to go berserk over this entire line of lighted furniture.

Check out this bold, eclectic mix of asian-inspired furniture and LED sleigh bed & night stand options!

Rattan and LED

BTW, you should know, Yoyoka also loves Rage Against the Machine! My co-host and I agree this music genre is definitely “not for the faint of heart!”

YOU ROCK…Yoyoka!

Holy drumsticks…my co-host and I had a great time with this, but we also wanted to talk to everyone about this. After all, this is the last track for the season. I’m taking some time off from recording, but listeners should know there will be plenty of entertainment going on while I take a break from the mic. I invite everybody to visit my website where I have and will continue to feature my designs and write unique posts for Genre blog. The two of us remark on how wildly colorful my Instagram page is as well. And.. that’s where I’ll be pouring in tons of great content on a regular schedule.

So, you may be wondering where I’m heading off to?

My story reads I’m leaving on a jet plane to Thailand, but I DO know when I'll be back again... That'll be January, with a spankin' new podcast format. Don't you worry, though. I promise music and design are still going to be very much my main gig!

One last thing before I leave... If you listen to the end of Track 9, you'll find a freebie promotion I’ve created especially for my podcast listeners! Just my way of saying THANK YOU to everyone for listening.

For now, I hope you enjoy this last tune sung by Peter, Paul & Mary. Do you know who wrote this song?
