Boldometer: Exploring Your Decorator Bold

For starters, I’m tipping the scales with the Dutch rock band, Shocking Blue.

The 1969 hit song is Venus, sung by lead vocalist, Mariska Veres.

Heads up…my co-host and I do our share of bad singing on this podcast track. I may need to consider adding a “bad-singing acceptance” button, sort of like a “cookies” button, to my podcast webpage.

Besides being undeniably bold, you may ask why this song for this track?

It’s pure and simple – I want to make sure all my Deep Track Designs listeners, clients, and visitors to my website understand this about decorating their homes:

“Yeah, baby," you got it!

I have shared the message of my philosophy-driven design approach since the very start of my interior design business. My niche is creating bold and beautiful spaces to reflect your personal level of bold. It’s my belief that we're all at our best when we push our limits, and I don’t think one’s personal surroundings should be excluded from the party! I also understand that some people express their inner bold without reservations, while others need some encouragement. That’s where I step in and sing, “I wanna hold your hand” by the Beatles (I told ya so!)

So, I built a comprehensive design quiz to help visitors discover their level of decorator bold.

The Boldometer Quiz is not your average quiz.

Quiz takers can expect to get real time interior design inspiration and advice in five minutes! There are four possible results: Toe-Dipper, Drama-Seeker, Boldster, and On Fire. Each result is accompanied by its own thermometer, a dozen beautiful inspiration images, 10 or so design tips, and a handful of design style suggestions. Then, as an extra bonus, you can adjust your own Boldometer temperature…Turn it up or down with just one final click of a button. Voila, experience the design inspiration for all four results!

But... I’m not giving away all my design quiz secrets hiding behind this closed door. I warn listeners that they will be missing out if they don’t take the quiz and compares this hidden, expansive part of her website to an amusement park just waiting for you to take a wild ride!

Click the link below to take the quiz and see for yourself. When you’re done, be sure to take in Track 5!

Next up, for a change, I’m designing mostly for the guys. Check out the newest design from my signature brand, Not Too Serious Offices! You may be surprised to learn that this office was inspired by a 1970 Chevrolet C10 belonging to my husband. The truck served as his first plow truck back in the early eighties.

Yes, it may be true - this old truck has long since outlived its usefulness, but…

“Yeah, baby,” he’s still got it!

Lemme ask you this…

Bold Office

“Her weapons were her crystal eyes, making every man mad…”

This is definitely a room for the on fire type of guy or gal. I say this, since I’m a bit of a motorhead myself.

I explain that the very boldest of bold rooms can always handle a wall mural. In this case, I feature a lightning storm on the water, the perfect choice for this shocking blue room. The modern, lacquer finish side table reminds me a little bit of a garage workshop tool box embellished with chrome hardware and legs.

What’s a man cave/office without a leather sofa and some industrial lighting? Got those, too!

And, let’s not forget… even the manliest of men need some coddling, from time-to-time. Not a problem for this masculine room design. Check out the ultra-comfortable womb chair featured in a striking indigo blue!

Hope you’ve enjoyed your ride. Just remember this…

“I'm your Venus, I'm your fire, at your desire.”
